TERMS & CONDITIONS – JACK ON DEMAND

Welcome to Jack on Demand. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, mobile apps, and services. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Platform.

 

1. About Jack on Demand

Jack on Demand is a digital marketplace that connects individuals (“Service Seekers”) with independent workers (“Service Providers”) for various services across Mauritius.

Jack on Demand is not:

  • A service provider
  • An employer of any Service Provider
  • A party to any agreement between users
  • Responsible for payments, job outcomes, or damages

Users engage with each other at their own discretion and risk.

 

2. Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Hold any required licenses relevant to the services you provide
  • Comply with all applicable laws in Mauritius

We may restrict access or suspend accounts at our discretion.

 

3. Account Creation

You must register an account to post or perform jobs. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure
  • Maintaining updated and accurate personal information
  • All activity performed under your account

We may suspend accounts in cases of fraud, misuse, safety concerns, or breaches of these Terms.

 

4. Identity Verification

To promote trust and safety, Jack on Demand may require users to complete identity verification.

  • Verification is performed through DIDIT, our secure third-party verification partner.
  • You may be required to provide government-issued ID and/or a selfie.
  • Verification status may impact your ability to access certain features.
  • Jack on Demand does not store ID document images on its servers.
  • Submitting false or misleading information may result in account removal.

Verification does not guarantee a user’s identity—users must conduct their own due diligence.

 

5. Posting and Performing Jobs

5.1 Service Seekers

When posting a job, you agree to provide accurate details including:

  • Job description
  • Location
  • Required skills
  • Budget

You are solely responsible for evaluating Service Providers and for ensuring compliance with local laws.

5.2 Service Providers

By applying for or performing jobs, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate skills/experience information
  • Complete jobs safely and professionally
  • Comply with all legal requirements, licenses, and standards applicable to the service

Jack on Demand does not supervise or guarantee the quality of services performed.

 

6. Payments

Currently, all payments occur outside the Platform.

Jack on Demand:

  • Does not process payments
  • Does not store any bank or card information
  • Does not mediate payment disputes
  • Has no control over job pricing or payment terms

All payment arrangements are made directly between Service Seekers and Service Providers.

Future Update:
Jack on Demand may introduce in-app payment options later. Additional terms will apply when implemented.

 

7. Communication and Notifications

Users may communicate through:

  • The in-app chat
  • SMS / email notifications
  • WhatsApp messaging

We use WATI as our WhatsApp communication partner to send:

  • Job updates
  • Verification reminders
  • System notifications
  • Support messages

By using the Platform, you consent to receiving these communications.
You may opt out of WhatsApp notifications at any time.

Users must not use communications for harassment, abuse, unsolicited promotions, or unlawful content.

 

8. Reviews and Ratings

Service Seekers may leave reviews once a job is completed.

  • Reviews must be honest, factual, and respectful
  • Jack on Demand may remove reviews that violate guidelines
  • Reviews reflect the opinion of users, not Jack on Demand

 

9. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Create multiple or fake accounts
  • Use the Platform for illegal activities
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse others
  • Upload harmful or offensive content
  • Attempt to interfere with platform operations

Violations may result in suspension or permanent removal.

 

10. Platform Access & Availability

We do not guarantee continuous or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features without prior notice.

We are not responsible for:

  • Loss of data
  • Connectivity issues
  • System errors or outages
  • External service disruptions (DIDIT, WATI, hosting providers, etc.)

 

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Jack on Demand is not liable for:

  • Any loss, damage, injury, or claim arising from user interactions
  • Job performance, quality, delays, or cancellations
  • Payment disputes between users
  • Loss of earnings or business opportunities
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

You use the Platform at your own risk.

 

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Jack on Demand against any claims arising from:

  • Your misuse of the Platform
  • Your breach of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law
  • Services you provide or receive

 

13. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • There is suspected fraud or safety risk
  • ID verification is not completed when required
  • Illegal or harmful activity is detected

Users may delete their own account at any time.

 

14. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the Platform means you accept the updated Terms.

 

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Mauritius.
All disputes will be handled under Mauritian jurisdiction.
